Party time!!!

I'm so freaking stoked! I couldn't decide on what to do for my bday so hubby said we should just throw a house party. Woot woot! So we'll have karoke, pool table, darts, poker, a bon fire and lots of alcohol! I can't wait. I invited some friends I haven't seen for years so it will be a blast. We might even break into drunken twister. (Or naked twister, depending on how drunk everyone is!) Man it will be nice to be able to not have to worry about driving anywhere and just have a good time. My friend will be making a Wop. Which is like fruit punch with enough alcohol in it to kill a horse. And no kids! Yay me! I'll have to post pics when it's done.

The Walk for Animals

Help support me in the Walk for Animals

I will be participating in the Animal Humane Society's 2008 Walk for Animals. With five Twin Cities locations, they care for more than 36,000 unwanted, abused and neglected animals each year.

My dog, Jake and my cat, Max were both from the Humane Society of Golden Valley.

In 2006, 20,800 homeless animals became precious pets with names and addresses. The Humane Society is an open-admission facility that makes every effort possible to bring people and pets together. No animal is turned away and the typical stay for a cat or dog is less than one week. 20,800 new pet owners came to us and went home with their own version of happy.

Across the Universe

If you haven't seen Across the Universe yet, go rent it now. It is beautiful. I hate to use the description of "Musical" because then I think of a bunch of theatrical dorks running around signing show tune. But it is a musical. But the music is all Beatles songs. Each song is unique to the original and beautifully sung. The actors are all unknowns and their voices are good, but they aren't great. Which is another reason why I like it so much. They are everyday kids who can carry a tune. One voice who's stands out is definitely T.V. Carpio. When she sings "I want to hold your hand" it just makes your surroundings disappear as you melt into her voice. I think John Lennon would be extremely proud of these kids for pulling off such an important movie.

ahhhhh!

I really didn't want this blog to turn into nothing but bitching, but I am so frustrated today. It's hubby's birthday tomorrow and he is all pissy about being another year older (not that I blame him, I hate birthdays with a passion.) But I'm trying to get him in a better mood when he calls to tell me we have no money in our account. Granted I have a couple checks and some cash I need to put in the bank but it still doesn't seem possible that we spent that much on groceries and gas in the last couple weeks that it's all gone. And we are suppose to be going out with friends on saturday for dinner and drinks to celebrate his bday and another friend. Plus we need to pay mortgage. Does this cycle never end? I wonder what it's like to have so much money where you can buy what you want, when you want never have to worry about paying bills late or going to the store and having your check card rejected. Why are some people so lucky and some so unlucky. It just doesn't seem fair. Plus most of the rich people I've met are total assholes, so the question is, where they always assholes or did they become assholes because of the money? Anyways, enough bitching, I have to figure out what to do about this money issue.
